When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) awakens in the body of an unidentified man, he finds out he is a part of a pursuit to discover the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In a mission not like any he's ever known, he discovers he's part of a federal experimentation named the "Source Code," a program that allows him to go over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target terrifying to kill thousands and thousands in the downtown area of Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident again and again, collecting indications everytime, until he can resolve the puzzle of who's in back of the bombs and stop another attack.
